Privacy Policy

Simple row counter is available on iOS and Android, and is provided by Guillaume MAIN DE BOISSIERE. The app has no account and no login, does not run its own server, and does not collect, sell, or share personal data. Your projects stay on your device unless you turn on optional cloud sync, which uses your own iCloud account (on iOS) or Google Drive account (on Android).

Data Stored By The App

The app stores row counters, project names, linked counters, goals, and local app settings on the user’s device. If the user imports a PDF pattern, that file is also kept on the device, in the app’s private storage.

The developer has no server and does not receive any of this data.

Cloud Sync

Cloud sync is optional and off by default. When enabled, the app stores a sync snapshot in the user’s own cloud account:

On iOS, in the user’s private iCloud (CloudKit) storage, tied to the Apple ID signed in on the device. The app never asks for an email or a password; Apple manages access through the system.
On Android, in the user’s Google Drive app data folder, a private area that is not visible among the user’s normal Drive files. The app asks for the Google Drive app data permission only when sync is turned on, and uses it only to read and write its own sync data — never the user’s visible Drive files. The app does not store Google passwords; Google Play Services manages the authorization tokens. The app also stores the connected Google account email on the device to show which account is in use.

In both cases the data stays in the user’s own cloud account, and the developer cannot access it. Apple’s and Google’s handling of that stored data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Use Of Google User Data

Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing Google Drive sync feature.

The app does not use Google user data for advertising, analytics, credit decisions, AI model training, or any unrelated purpose.

The developer does not transfer, sell, or disclose Google user data to third parties. Google Drive and Google Play process data only as the services the user chooses to use for sync and billing.

The app’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

No developer server stores Google user data or Google authorization tokens.

Payments

If the user makes a purchase, billing is handled by the App Store on Apple platforms or Google Play on Android. The app does not receive or store payment card details.

Simple row counter does not sell or share user data with third parties. The app contains no ads, no analytics, and no tracking software, and uses no advertising identifier.

Security

Local app data is stored in the operating system’s app-private storage. Network requests — to iCloud and the App Store on iOS, to Google Drive and Google Play on Android, and to the website host (GitHub Pages and Cloudflare) — use HTTPS.

Data Retention And Deletion

The app keeps data only as long as the user keeps it. Users can:

Delete local data by deleting projects in the app, or by uninstalling the app.
Stop cloud sync at any time by turning it off in the app. To also remove the synced snapshot: on iOS, open the iOS Settings, tap your name, then iCloud, manage the app’s storage, and delete its data; on Android, remove the app’s access in your Google Account settings, which erases the app data folder.

Because the app has no account and no developer server, there is no separate account or server-side data to delete.

Children

Simple row counter is a general-audience app and is not directed to children.
